Motherhood: Somehow Everyone Needs a Snack Again

Before becoming a mom, I thought I was a patient person.

Turns out, I was just a person who could finish a sentence.

Now I live with people who say “Mom” while I’m actively looking at them.

“Mom.”

“Yes?”

“Mom.”

“I’m listening.”

“Mom, look.”

We are making eye contact. I cannot be more available without becoming a customer service kiosk.
